KeyPress Property (ClientSideEvents)

Event fired when control receives the keypress event of browser.

Remarks

It can be the name of implemented function or explicit javascript statement(s). If the name of function is used, then that event handler may contain up to 3 parameters.

  1. The reference to the JavaScript object that represents WebHtmlEditor.
  2. The keyCode of event.
  3. The reference to the event object. The member oEvent.event contains reference to original event of browser.

Notes:

  1. Event can be canceled by oEvent.cancel=true; but not all browsers will support that.
  2. Postback can be triggered by oEvent.needPostBack=true;
  3. Entry can be modified by oEvent.key=newKeyCode; but not all browsers will support that.
