Version-Free Assembly Names

Starting with this release of 2010 Volume 2, we offer you version-free assemblies that are available in a zipped format along with the product install. The version-free assemblies will not have the trailing version number and the CLR identity in their names. For example, Infragistics4.Shared.v10.2.dll will read as Infragistics.Shared.dll. For assemblies with both CLR2 and CLR 3 versions (like Infragistics4.Documents.Excel.v10.2 and Infragistics3.Documents.Excel.v10.2), the version-free assemblies will match the latest CLR version. So the version-free Excel assembly will be Infragistics.Documents.Excel.dll and is the one built for the CLR3 version. With the version-free assemblies, you can easily upgrade from one version to another using assembly binding redirection, without the need to re-build your applications.
