LoadPostData Method (SmartWebControl)

Processes data posted back from a web form.

Parameters

postDataKey

A key identifying this target element.

values

A set of values that the implementation of LoadPostData can dereference with postDataKey to access it's posted back data.

Return Value

True if the posted back data has caused state changes within the element; otherwise False.

Remarks

Posted back data generally appears url-encoded within the body of an HTTP post. The ASP.NET framework unpacks this information and dispatches it to elements on the page which implement IPostBackDataHandler, such as the SmartWebControl does.

The client-side object model generally posts back information related to state changes and actions undertaken by the end user with the element. This method is how the client-side and server-side communicate this stateful information back and forth.

Inheritors wishing to process posted back data added by their SmartWebControl subclass' client-side object model should override the OnLoadPostData method.
