Add a List Tool to a Toolbar

The WinToolbarsManager™ component has 15 different tool types that you can add to a ToolBar . This demonstrates how to add a ListTool design-time and run-time and highlights one of the major features of the Tool. Since a ListTool can display images when its StateButton is pressed and unpressed, you can use the ImageList control to store these images.

At design-time:

  1. To configure the UltraWinToolbar element, open the design-time customizer by right-clicking on the UltraToolbarsManager element and selecting "Customize."

  2. To create a new Tool, click the "Tools" tab in the customizer, and then the "New…" button.

  3. Select Popup Menu as your Tool Type and click on the Add button.

  4. Select List Tool as your Tool Type and click on the Add button.

  5. To specify a side strip, expand the Settings property of the PopupMenu Tool and set IsSideStripVisible to True. If you would like to customize the look of the side strip, you can set the properties of the SideStripAppearance .

  6. To add ListToolItems , click on the ListToolItems Collection of the List Tool. Select the Add button to Add a ListToolItem. Once you are finished adding ListToolItems, then click the OK button.

  7. Click the "ToolBars" tab in the customizer, and then the "New…" button.

  8. Click the "Tools" tab and drag the Popup Menu Tool to the ToolBar residing on the form.

  9. Drag the List Tool to the Popup Menu Tool.

At run-time:

Use the following code:
