Control the Timing of a Tooltip’s Appearance

When you set up WinToolTipManager™ to automatically display tooltips for controls, you can control the delay before the tooltip appears and also, the amount of time before it automatically disappears.

InitialDelay

To determine how long the mouse must hover over a control before the tooltip displays, set the InitialDelay property of the WinToolTipManager control. This property specifies the number of milliseconds of delay before the tooltip is displayed.

AutoPopDelay

When a tooltip is displayed, it will automatically disappear (pop) when the mouse leaves the bounds of the control or when a mouse button is clicked. If the mouse stays within the bounds of the control and no mouse button is clicked, then the tooltip will disappear when the AutoPopDelay has expired. AutoPopDelay is a property on the UltraWinToolTipManager component that determines the number of milliseconds that the tooltip will display before automatically popping. If you do not want the tooltip to automatically pop, set the AutoPopDelay property to zero.
