When the value is updated by the user as a result of ending edit mode on the ActiveCell after changes were made, the sequence of events is EditModeEnding, EditModeValidationError (for validation errors generated by the editor), CellUpdating, CellUpdated or DataError (for exceptions thrown by the DataSource) and finally EditModeEnded.
