WebHtmlEditor Accessibility Compliance

All of our ASP.NET controls and components comply with section 508, subpart 1194.22 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Below is a table containing the specific rules of subpart 1194.22 that pertain to the control, and how we comply with each rule. In some cases, you may have to set a property. In other cases, you won’t have to do anything as our control does all the work for you.

Rules How We Comply with the Rules

(a)

By enabling the control’s Section508Compliant property, all non-text elements render a text equivalent.

Note
Note:

In Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 6.0, ToolTips for the WebHtmlEditor™ drop-down lists (e.g., Align, Flash align, and Movie quality in the Insert Flash dialog box) are not displayed when the Section508Compliant property is set to True due to a limitation in Internet Explorer 6.0.

Note
Note:

A text equivalent is supplied by default, but this can be customized to suit your needs.

(m)

If you have enabled and made visible the buttons that allow Microsoft® Windows Media™ and Macromedia® Flash™ objects to be inserted into the WebHtmlEditor, then you must provide in your application a link to where your end user can download the Section 508-compliant versions of those programs.

(n)

WebHtmlEditor does not support keyboard navigation in it’s toolbar or tab strip regions. Your Web applications should provide it’s own accessible Buttons to access any required toolbar button-specific features programmatically.
