This topic explains how to use the ChartInsideGridCellDrawFilter class within a Windows Forms Application along with WinGrid™. This topic will demonstrate which event to handle in order to populate the individual Charts that represent each Row of WinGrid.
An instance of the ChartInsideGridCellDrawFilter class is instantiated in the Form’s constructor and then wired to the ChartInfoRequested event handler.This event will fire once per WinGrid row that is initialized. This will provide you with the opportunity to use the event arguments to identify the Row that is being initialized and use the information in that Row to go and get the data to populate the Chart. The Draw Filter is then assigned to the Grid’s DrawFilter property so that it will apply our custom logic to the rendering of this WinGrid.

The ChartInfoRequested event is handled so that you, the Developer, can populate the Chart attached to each WinGrid Row. The event Arguments expose the WinGrid Row as well as the Chart so that you can navigate the values of the current WinGrid Cells and use that information to retrieve relevant data which can then be used as a Data Source for the Chart. For example, you may want to use the CustomerID value located in one of the Row’s Cells so that you can retrieve their Orders or other metrics that you may want to place in the Chart.
Handling this event is simply all about setting the various Chart properties such as ChartType, TitleTop and DataSource.
